The Chardham, also referred to as "the four abodes", is the journey up the mountains to the four sacred temples in the north-Indian state of Uttarakhand. It is also sometimes called as Chhota Chardham to differentiate it from the bigger circuit of Chardham sites. The four temples that comprise Chardham are: Yamunotri dham, Gangotridham, Badrinathdham and Kedarnathdham. Each of these temples has scintillating myths associated with them, which give them immense religious importance.
